Edward is an exciting new talent, highly regarded for his scores to dramatic feature films, commercials, and feature/TV documentaries. His feature credits include British supernatural thriller, ‘Nine Lives’ (Lionsgate) starring Paris Hilton and Amelia Warner; Hollywood surf movie ‘Beautiful Wave’ (Anchorbay Entertainment) starring Aimee Teegarden (‘Friday Night Lights’) and Lance Henriksen (‘Aliens’); thriller ‘Bad Moon Rising’ (Mirage Entertainment Inc) and British gangster movie, ‘The Sky in Bloom’ (Hydra Films RKM).
Edward is currently working with Emmy award winning, BAFTA nominated Director, Clare Beaven, on a new 90 minute film for Channel 4 called ‘Britain’s Greatest Code Breaker’ (w/t) about wartime code-breaker and Mathematician Alan Turing written by Craig Warner (‘The Queen’s Sister’, ‘Maxwell’, ‘The Fall of Lehman Brothers’) and starring Ed Stoppard (‘Joy Division’). He is also writing the score to the US/Filipino prison drama ‘Dance of the Steel Bars’ (Portfolio Films International) which stars Patrick Bergin of ‘Sleeping with the Enemy’ and is co-writing the score for Angelic Productions’/Angelic Films’ ‘Little Stars of Bethlehem’ with fellow Eaton composer, Tandis Jenhudsen.
The documentary, ‘Rogue Sharks’, with music by Edward, opened shark week on Discovery Channel to over 2.4 million viewers in the United States. By mixing dramatic accounts of real-life shark attacks with a classic scientific detective story, the film investigates the phenomenon of the rogue shark upon which Jaws was based.
Other recent commissions include the documentary ‘Earth Meets Wind’ (for Portfolio Films America) which follows Balinese World Champion bodybuilder Komang Arnawa to Los Angeles as he attempts to reinvent the art of bodybuilding with Hollywood dance choreographer, Cindera Che.
In early 2011, Edward finished his score for ‘Touch Points’ (Octopus ME) – a spectacle fueled 3D extravaganza for Toshiba which was recorded with an eighty piece orchestra and which will be shown in 3D cinemas throughout the world. Earlier in 2010, Edward’s music was performed by the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road for ‘iMovie 11’, a major new interactive release from Apple.
Away from the screen, Edward has written string arrangements for the debut solo album, ‘Insatiable’, from Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle. He has also recorded concert works for full orchestra including ‘Heaven Has Blessed This Day’, and ‘The Apostle & The Stormy Sea’. Other concert works include “Blessed Is The Spot”, a chorale based on the Bahá’í prayer – which premiered at Warwick Arts Centre in the New Year of 2008. He has provided guitar performances for amongst others, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Dame Kiri Tekanewa and Boyzone.
As one of the principal composers for JW Media Music in the UK and Liquid Cinema Premiere Trailer Music Library in the US, Edward has over 200 tracks currently being licensed for usage globally. His music can be heard regularly on high profile movie trailers and on Discovery, BBC, ITV, Sky Movies, Sky Sports, Turner Classic Movies and Cartoon Network to name but a few.
In 2007, Edward was flown to Hollywood as an award winner in the 2007 Turner Classic Movies Young Film Composer Awards by a blue ribbon panel of judges chaired by Academy Award winning composer Hans Zimmer (Inception, The Dark Knight). Prior to this, in 2006, Edward was named a finalist in the BBC New Talent Young Television Composer Scheme conducting music from George Fenton’s Planet Earth score at Angel Studios.
